Problem, Process, Takeaways

I had instructed new adult college learners for several years (face-to-face and online instruction) when I began developing a course about writing and research that would be conducted completely asynchronously. Many learners were confused about what asynchronous learning meant. I knew I needed to come up with an engaging and informative introduction to the 16-week learning experience. I used previous PowerPoint documents I’d created to storyboard the project. I then designed, iterated, and developed this project in Canva. Learner feedback was positive, noting the engaging, colorful introduction to the course. Learners appreciated that this video encouraged communication, accessibility of instructor, and pointed them to further resources in the LMS.
